Everything parents & students ask us.
From online vs in-home to how soon you’ll see results. Still wondering something? The free assessment is the best way to get a real answer.
Getting started
- Book a free assessment — online or in-home. We’ll pinpoint where your student is, talk through goals, and you’ll leave with a clear sense of what would help. There’s no cost and no obligation to continue.
Logistics
- Both. Online sessions are available anywhere by video and tend to be a little more affordable; in-home sessions are offered across the greater Madison area and carry a small travel premium. Many families mix the two.
- Most students start with one 60-minute session per week; SAT/ACT prep works best at 90 minutes. We can ramp up before a big test or final and ease off when things are stable.
- Yes — always. Your student works one-on-one with the same tutor each session. Continuity is half the value, and we never rotate students through a bench of strangers.
- Weekly slots are reserved for ongoing students. You can reschedule with 24 hours’ notice at no charge. During exam season, book early — SAT/ACT intensives and AP-season slots fill up.
Subjects
- Math from grade 5 through AP Calculus, sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, including AP), SAT and ACT prep, AP exam prep across STEM subjects, and study-skills / executive-function coaching.
Results
- It depends heavily on the starting point. Students who begin lower tend to see the largest gains; students already scoring high see smaller, harder-won lifts. Our students average roughly +180 SAT points and +4 ACT composite points over a full prep cycle — illustrative averages, not a promise of any specific score.
- Most families feel real momentum within 4–6 weeks — homework gets less painful, quiz scores steady. Bigger outcomes like a full letter-grade jump or a target test score follow over a semester or prep cycle. Anyone promising overnight results isn’t being straight with you.
Pricing
- Sessions run $70–$110/hour depending on subject and test prep, with weekly Semester Plans and a discounted SAT/ACT Intensive package. The first assessment is always free, and sliding-scale spots are available — just ask. See the Pricing page for full detail.
Trust
- Nadia holds an M.Ed. and a B.S. in Mathematics, taught high-school math for eight years, and has tutored for 14 years across math, science, and test prep. An annual background check is on file and available to any family.
- If the first paid session isn’t the right match for your student, it’s free — no questions asked. The right relationship between student and tutor matters more than anything, and we’d rather earn it.
Working together
- Yes, light and purposeful — usually targeted practice between sessions. Progress comes from the reps a student does on their own; we make sure that work is the right work, not busywork.
